Marolt Commits to Cougars Volleyball for 2025-26!
The Sault Cougars Women’s Volleyball program has proudly announced their second recruit for the 2025 season: Alaina Marolt. A dynamic multi-position player, Marolt currently competes for the 18u Northern Chill Avalanche in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) and has established herself as a standout athlete for College Notre Dame.
For Alaina, the decision to join Sault College was more than just about athletics—it was deeply personal. Sault College was always a place Marolt had circled on the map, she is continuing somewhat of a family tradition, following in the footsteps of the women in her life who also attended the college – her Grandmother and Great Aunt. In addition to her athletic ambitions, Alaina is set to enroll in the business accounting program in the fall of 2025, demonstrating her commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
Alaina’s journey with volleyball began at a young age, inspired by her father, who was a collegiate player at Laurentian University. Growing up in a household where volleyball was a way of life, Alaina’s passion for the sport blossomed early. Walking and volleyball came hand in hand for Marolt, highlighting how deeply ingrained the sport has been in her upbringing. Over the past four years, she has honed her skills in the competitive OVA circuit, representing the Northern Chill program.
As a member of the Sault Cougars, Alaina brings not only her athletic talent but also her competitive spirit and a rich history of volleyball experience. The team and coaching staff are thrilled to welcome her to the fold, confident that she will be a key contributor to their success in the coming seasons.
Welcome to the Cougars, Alaina! The future looks bright with you on the team.
