Cougars Wrap Up Round Robin Play!

In the final day of round robin action, the Sault College Cougars squared off against the Assiniboine College Cougars. As the draw got underway, teams exchanged singles through the first three ends, giving Sault College an early 2-1 lead. Sault College would orchestrate a steal of three in the fourth end, followed up by stealing a pair in the fifth end to take a 7-1 lead. Assiniboine would get a single point back in the sixth end, before Sault College delivered the finishing blow with 3 points in the seventh end. Sault College would win the match by a final of 10-2. The Cougars will prepare for their final draw against the Humber Hawks.

The final draw of the round robin saw the Humber Hawks jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the first end. The Cougars and Hawks would trade singles over the second and third ends, before Sault College earned themselves a pair in the fourth, tying the game 3-3. The Cougars would steal a pair in the sixth end, taking their first lead of the game. Humber quickly responded with 2 points in the seventh end, giving Sault College the hammer going into the eighth and final end. Sault College would take advantage by scoring two points and winning their final round robin game 7-5. The Cougars finished round robin play with a 5-2 record and finished fourth in the standings in a 3-way tie break for second.
